SOS Productions is an award winning production company which has made films and reports from all over the world. We have worked with Screen Ireland, Dogwoof, Submarine, Break Out Pictures, Keeper Pictures, Tara Films, Eon Productions, Al Jazeera English, BBC, RTE, Channel 4, The New York Times and The Guardian.

 

Our new film Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2024. 

 

It is the Opening Night Film at Doc NYC and will have its Irish premiere at Cork Film Festival. 

 

Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story will be released in Irish and UK cinemas in 2025. 

 

Pray for Our Sinners premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2022 and was the most attended documentary in Irish cinemas for 2023. 

We are currently developing a slate of challenging and exciting projects from around the world with the support of Screen Ireland.

The work of SOS Productions pays particular attention to unseen issues that have international appeal. This is reflected in our slate which is being developed in partnership with Screen Ireland. Our content is female focussed. We want to connect with audiences from both Ireland and around the world.

Sinead O’Shea is an award-winning filmmaker and writer. 

 

 

Her latest feature Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2024. 

 

It was made as a co-production between SOS Productions, Tara Films, Screen Ireland, Sky Arts, BFI Global Screen Fund and Eon Productions. It is represented by Indox Films and Submarine Entertainment for international sales. 


Sinéad’s previous documentary Pray For Our Sinners was the most attended documentary at Irish cinemas in 2023 and premiered at Toronto International Film Festival 2024. Her first feature documentary A Mother Brings her Son to be Shot premiered at CPH:DOX 2018 where it was nominated for a FACT Award.  

 

Sinéad has also directed and produced over 100 films and reports with Al Jazeera English, BBC, Channel 4 and RTÉ.
